Thank you all for providing a year of integrated education to a child at one of Amar Jyoti Charitable Trust’s schools in the Indian region of Delhi. Your generous donations support a child like Kirti, who is 10 years old and a member of the ‘special’ class.
Kirti comes from a low-income family - her father is a fruit seller and the sole provider for the family. Kirti has faced a lot of obstacles in her young life, including being hearing impaired. Her brother is no different; he struggles with speech in addition to hearing problems.
An active girl, she struggled with her studies when she first was admitted into the Jyoti program. Through the efforts of Jyoti educators, Kirti has shown great improvement in her studies and is doing well in all subjects. During her free time, she loves to draw.
Amar Jyoti educates able-bodied and disabled students alongside one another, paving the way for an inclusive society. Dedicated to holistic engagement with each student, the school offers services that range from physical, occupational and family therapy to vocational training in computers, carpentry and fashion design.
Thank you Tom, Yumi, and the Butson family for giving a child like Kirti the chance to excel in school and in life.
