Manav is determined to learn

Seven year old Manav studies in grade 1 at the integrated school run by Amar Jyoti at Gwalior. Manav comes from a very poor family. His father is a landless laborer, and his mother works as a domestic worker to make both ends meet. Both his parents realize the value of a good education and ensure that Manav attends school regularly.

Manav was not a bright student, but after getting individual attention from his teachers has caught up with the rest of the class. He loves dancing and drawing. He participates very enthusiastically in all the activities of the class, and dreams of representing his school at inter-school competitions.
