Jeeshan is a cheerful student

Introduction

Jeeshan is a twelve year old boy studying in the Visually Impaired section at Amar Jyoti School. He is performing at a fourth grade level in academics. He is a cheerful child and is regular in coming to school.

Family background

Jeeshan comes from an economically underprivileged family. His father is unemployed as he is visually impaired and his mother does stiching and embroidery work. He has three other siblings who are also studying at Amar Jyoti School. All three also have low vision problems. It is difficult for his parents to afford the education and medical services of Jeeshan. However, they are motivated to send him to school.

Status when he joined

Jeeshan was in Special section when he joined as he required special attention. However, his vision started deteriorating and recently he was shifted to the Section for Visually Impaired.

Current Status

Academics

He is good in academics and is a fast learner. Right now, he studies with the help of bold print.

Extracurricular Activities

Jeeshan shows interest in sports like basketball and likes to color pictures. He also has good communication skills and has a friendly attitude towards his peers. He is obedient and sincere.

Teachers Note: Jeeshan is a fast learner and shows interest in learning new things. He enjoys ‘story telling’ session where his Special Educator tells stories stressing more on vocal effects.
