Introduction
Rohit is a nine (9) year old boy studying in the Special section at Amar Jyoti School. He is a slow learner and suffers from Cerebral Palsy. Despite these issues, he regularly comes to school. He has been coming to Amar Jyoti for three years and shows progress each year.
Family background
Rohit is from an economically underprivileged family. His father is a driver and his mother is a home maker. It becomes difficult for his parents to support his education and medical needs. He has two other siblings that need to be supported by his parents.
Status when he joined
Rohit was more reserved when he joined. He did not communicate much with his peers. Academically, he was average in all the subjects. He had basic knowledge of Hindi and English alphabets. In Maths, he could count from 1 to 50.
Current Status
Academics
Rohit has improved on both social as well as academic skills with time. He communicates with much more confidence and has developed friendship with his peers. Academically, he is making efforts to improve his performance.
Extra curricular activities
Rohit gets involved in almost all the class activities. In sports, he shows interest in basket ball. He is good in music and drawing as well.
Teachers Note: Though a slow learner, Rohit has exhibited gradual improvement in all the subjects. His parents have also made efforts to help in every way they can. Given proper attention, Rohit holds the capacity to do much better.
