Sofia loves dancing and drawing

Five year old Sofia  is a student of  lower kindergarden. Her father is a tailor and her mother is a housewife. Both parents are illiterate. Her family struggles financially.

Sofia is a slow learner. When she  joined the special classes conducted by Amar Jyoti, Gwalior, she was very slow in understanding and grasping concepts. Now she is showing marked improvement in her studies.

In addition to being a good student,  Sofia dances very well and loves to draw. She also loves playing carrom and is quite competitive about it.

Kashish can beat anyone at carrom

Kashish is a Nursery student at the integrated school run by Amar Jyoti in Gwalior. Her father is a driver and her mother is a housewife.  Her family struggles financially, and they realize the value of ensuring that their daughter gets a good education.

Kashish is a slow learner. When she  joined the special classes conducted by Amar Jyoti, Gwalior, she was very slow in understanding and grasping concepts. She is, however, responding well to the teachers, and is proving to be a good student.

In addition to being a bright child, Kashish sings and draws very well and is a good carrom player too.

Hemant is naughty and sweet

Hemant was not a bright student, but after getting individual attention from his teachers has caught up with the rest of the class. He loves drawing and football. The teacherfinds Hemant quite a handful sometimes, but sweet-natured, at the same time.

Rohit loves to draw

Eleven year old Rohit Balmiki is studying in Grade 3 at the integrated school run by Amar Jyoti in Gwalior. Vikas comes from family with a very low-income. His father is an agricultural laborer and his mother is a housewife.

When Rohit got admission in the school, he was very weak in studies, but the personal attention given by the teachers has ensured that his grades have been steadily improving. Both his parents recognize the value of a good education and support him as much as possible.

When Rohit joined the school, he was very reserved, but he has now opened up and has emerged active. He is very talented and enjoys drawing and dancing. His teacher regards him an all-rounder who also does well in studies.

Vikas makes beautiful rangolis

Vikas is studying in Grade 2 at the integrated school run by Amar Jyoti in Gwalior. Vikas comes from family with a very low-income.

When Vikas got admission in the school, he was very weak in studies, but the personal attention given by the teachers has ensured that his grades have been steadily improving. Both his parents recognize the value of a good education and support him as much as possible.

When Vikas joined the school, he was very reserved, but he has now opened up and has emerged enthusiastic, smart and sweet by nature. He is very talented and makes beautiful rangolis (folk-art designs using colorful powders, made on floors, during Hindu festivals).
